Two thousand young people from all over the Hawassa Vicariate participated in the Youth Festival in Hawassa from 7th to 9th of February 2019.
Message of Bishop Roberto
Dear priests, brothers, sisters, volunteers and all who will open this website,
in the past months in Hawassa Vicariate had been done a big effort to prepare this website. The result is good and I thank all those who had been working with competence and love to achieve this very promising result.
The idea that is under the building of this website is to make the work and activities, that are going on in our Vicariate, be known not only to us but also among other that may be interested to.
I said “promising”result because this is only the beginning. If we want to make this website useful and updated, a lot of work has to be added. This need the contribution of each one of us. The structure of the website is here. We have to feed it. So, I ask all the pastoral agents of the Vicariate and the guests, that come to visit us, to make an effort to send information, photos and small articles about the activities in the parishes, schools, clinics and more.
I could see visiting all the parishes that we are doing a lot of good works. We have to make all these works known. On television, on newspapers, on internet we read and see many negative examples that may bring darkness to our minds and souls. For this, presenting good and positive examples, we may help the light of Christ shine in this world. We may show that what we do with our works is a small sign of the love of God for all the people, here in particular for the people that are living in the Vicariate of Hawassa.
Mary our Mother may guide us in following the footprint of Jesus, our Lord.
