Health program
For over 40 years, AwCS has been a strong advocate and promoter of health as an indispensable vehicle to development and the common good. Serving the rural poor communities with non-existent or under-served health services, AwCS commits an enormous investment of people (240 staff), energy and resources to our Health Program through her 13 facilities: 12 clinics and Bushulo health centre which is currently in progress of being upgraded in partnership with the government to become the first Specialty Mother-Child Health Centre in all southern Ethiopia. Our competent staff provides outpatient treatment services for various ailments, professional-attended deliveries, antenatal care services, laboratory tests, and gives life-saving
treatment tounder 5 years of age malnourished children.
Curative services are supplemented with preventative health education, community outreach services, mother-child services, HIV/AIDS care, emergency ambulance services and in Dilla the clinic is famous for traditional medical practices streamlined with modern medication carried out by atrained physician.
